Sneak Peek into HASHTAG HIV

In the weeks leading up to Hashtag HIV: Current AIDS Writing, we will be linking to some of the great work of our panelists. It will give you an idea of what to expect, and provide you with an opportunity to come with questions, and some background.

This week we are looking at the work of Aldrin Valdez and Jessica Max Stein

General Idea. "AIDS (A Project for the Public Art Fund, Inc.)," 1989.

Earlier this year, ALDRIN VALDEZ, was a guest blogger for ART:21. As he was posting new work, we were linking. Here they are all together. We are moved by the way he brings together art, activism, HIV and his personal ideas. Check out here: blog.art21.org

Bert and Ernie fly to fairyland

In 2009, Jessica Max Stein released a zine entitled The Rainbow Connection, a runaway success that brought together childhood memories, HIV/AIDS, sexuality, and biography. Read a piece she wrote using some of the research for the zine, that responds to the question, why do we care so much about the sex lives of puppets? We are really excited to be part of the Rainbow Book Fair. Check it out here: rainbowbookfair.org
